Center for Youth Networking and Development Initiatives, Inc. in partnership with the Zamboanga City Library concluded the “Women and Poetry” today. This is a way to celebrate Women’s Month 2023. This is in support of the 2023 National Women’s Month with its campaign for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society, celebrating women through words that aim to recognize women’s undeniable contribution to our society in one way or another.

Among those who joined us during the activity are women councilors who gave inspiring messages, Councilor Al-Jihan R. Edding and Lilibeth M. Nuño two of the known champions of women and gender legislation in the city.

The activity is a truly enlightening way of reflecting on how women from different generations worked together to advocate and advance the call for equality and equity.

The highlight of the poetry session is how the activity surfaced and amplified women’s narratives and the role of the library in preserving such stories.
